Bose was founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar G. Bose, a professor of electrical engineering. Extensive research in the fields of speaker design and psychoacoustics led to the groundbreaking 901 Direct/Reflecting speaker system in 1968. Its unprecedented approach to sound reproduction came much closer to the essence and emotional impact of live music, and won immediate acclaim.
Since then the list of Bose innovations has continued to grow. One of those innovations is the L1 portable line array system which provides a completely different approach to live sound. L1 systems combine PA and monitors into a single, highly portable unit that can be positioned behind or to the side of individuals onstage.
