The Adam Audio A3X powered studio monitor features the much acclaimed ADAM sound quality by using the X-ART tweeter for the higher frequencies, a guarantee for crystal clear music reproduction. The tiny footprint of the A3X monitor makes it perfectly suited for all environments where space is limited but sound shouldn’t be constricted.
Controls and Connectors
Two built-in 25 watt amplifiers power the 4.5 inch drivers directly. The diaphragm is made from carbon fiber, a material that is very light but very stiff and therefore capable of delivering colouring-free sound. The front of the A3X sports dual ports for surprising low frequency response down to 60Hz as well as power and gain controls. The rear panel includes balanced (XLR) jacks, unbalanced (RCA) jacks, and a tweeter gain.
StereoLink
The A3X employs a Stereolink. This new technology connects two A3X speakers in such a manner as to allow the user the option to control the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakers gain control. This makes the A3X a natural for mixer-less desktop applications where overall system volume needs to be adjusted easily.
The Stereolink is accomplished by a pair of additional RCA connections that allow for a bypass of the second stereo channel to the other speaker.
X-ART
With the development of new materials, it has become possible for Adam to significantly improve the highly acclaimed ART technology. The new X-ART (‘X’ for eXtended frequency response) features an even higher degree of efficiency, higher sound pressure levels, and another extension of the frequency response.
- The X-ART tweeter exhibits a 4 dB higher efficiency and a 3 dB higher SPL. In addition, the frequency response can extend up to 50 kHz (at -3 dB point).
- The X-ART midrange unit shines with a 2 dB higher efficiency and a 3 dB higher SPL.
