AKG K 271 mkII Headphones combine the benefits of AKG’s circumaural design for extreme comfort, and a closed-back design for maximum isolation from ambient noise.
Thanks to its XXL transducers, the K 271 MK II sounds clean, smooth and very rich.
The K 271 MK II is the perfect choice for any application where sonic bleed could cause problems such as broadcast work. Another important feature of the K 271 MK II is the addition of a switch in the headband that mutes the audio just as soon as the headphones are taken off.

AKG Varimotion Technology
The basis of superior audio performance
The heart of any headphone is the diaphragm. Made of extremely thin foil, the diaphragm is required by transducer designers to perform incredible, almost artistic feats. The rim of the diaphragm must vibrate elastically while the center portion should move like a piston. AKG achieved just that by designing the Varimotion system.
The sound zone in the center is thicker than the rim and therefore moves like a piston with no partial oscillations. The result is an absolutely realistic sound, with a better sonic perspective and an airier high end. The rim, or movement zone, is thinner and vibrates more easily, providing a powerful, punchy bass range.

Great sound, lower output, made in China
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It appears to be fairly well made, although the light weight can make it feel a little cheaper. Although the sound is excellent, the output is considerably lower than my Sennheiser HD 280 Pros, and they do not attenuate sound quite as well. These are more comfortable though, and the sound quality is better, with fuller (although not overpowering) bass.

Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The sound is, of course, top notch, and these are very comfortable. The replaceable cords (2 are provided) are a nice touch. The auto shutoff is also a nice feature. The auto-adjust headband is also great.
|
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Very easy to use. Nice extras. Ear pads were a bit tricky to replace.
|
Value
Was this item an overall good value?
These are priced reasonably, although they are now made in China and do not look exactly like the pictures on websites, or the box, for that matter. The letters on the headband are solid rather than outlined.
