Quality: Where is it? I certainly havent seen it.
Features: Thin metal construction, carpet spikes are loose and dont hold well. The spring under the foot pedal is very small and soldered very poorly.
Sound: Thats the problem, its loud and sqeeeky.
Overall: I got it with my Alesis USB Pro kit and replaced it strait away with the Roland PD-8. I think this is a poor representation of the Alesis Co.
Value: None
Appearance: It looks,... ok

Subject:Unimpressed
Quality: This product is made pretty sturdy as far as pedals go but my biggest concern with this pedal is the actual function. The pedal uses a metal plate attached to the pedal to push down on a curved piece of rubber that pushes down on a plastic sticker that appears to be something like a ribbon-type variable resistor. I need to depress the pedal about 3/4 of the way before it even begins to register the 1-128 value to my Trigger IO. Even then it goes through the range of midi values in a very small range of motion. It seems almost impossible for me to register anything besides full open or full closed. Whenever I push the pedal down quickly to get the hi hat to make the hi hat click it has a nasty tendancy to trigger that sound multiple times. I've been trying to work with my Trigger IO to solve this problem but it is proving most difficult.
Features: It is your basic electric hi hat pedal. I think they could have done us a favor and put the output jack on the left side instead of the right. I use double bass pedals so having the cable feed in the way of my slave pedal is inconvienent.
Sound: It doesn't make an actual sound itself, but of course is used to make one electronically. It doesn't do a very good job in my opinion.
Overall: My general opinion of this product is not favorable. It came with my Alesis USB Pro electric drumset. I like everything about the kit except for this pedal which I am currently looking for a replacement.
Value: I suppose you get what you pay for?
Appearance: The appearance is pretty nice even though the pedal sucks!
