Batting 1st: Alesis IO Pro Dock for iPad 2 - So its better then everyone else... So Far

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's definitely designed well and only time will show the 'quality'. But it weighs about as much as the iPad 2 so, at least for my intended use, it will find a permanent resting place alongside the Mixing Board and the DAW. Taking it to Gigs is doable (w/ a decent Flight Case) but tell people that DON'T know much about it should be asked to stay away n hands off.

XLR n TRS (1/4") cable Combo is cool for saving space. And 3-4 FireWire I/O would be cool

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Dock is well made, though it is mostly plastic. I recommend buying a case for it (such as the Gator case made for the unit) if you are going to be transporting it to gigs.

The feature I use most is the two 1/4" phone plug outputs...much better than messing with those miniture plugs...plus each output has a volume control.

Product is easy to use...just slide in your iPad, connect power and audio plugs to your PA and you are ready to rock!!!

The Alesis IOdock is a good value, but be careful not to drop in on a concrete floor! It is well built, but it is not "built like a tank".
