Alesis ML9600 MasterLink Mastering CD Recorder

The Alesis MasterLink ML9600 now provides nearly 60 hours of continuous recording!
The powerful, industry-standard Alesis MasterLink ML9600 audio mastering and mixdown device provides an internal stereo hard disk recorder with DSP mastering tools and an advanced 4x CD burner in a single unit. Now you can send your stereo master to the MasterLink's hard drive at any pro sample rate (44.1/48/88.1/96kHz) and 16/20/24-bit Word lengths, Edit it with Cropping Gain adjustment and Join and Split, functions, polish it with EQ, compression normalization and peak limiting, easily audition several different versions of the track, and burn your industry standard 16-bit Red Book CD.

But the real breakthrough is CD24, an all new Alesis CD format that lets you produce an AIFF-format 24-bit/96kHz disc. Since Windows, Mac and Unix computer workstations can read this format, the MasterLink replaces the need for R-DAT and other, more expensive mixdown hardware. The savings in media alone could pay for your ML9600 in no time (CD-Rs that cost pennies vs. R-DAT cassettes that cost $10). The MasterLink also provides balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog I/Os, AES/EBU XLR and S/PDIF RCA digital I/Os, and a massive internal 40 GB hard drive.

As a songwriters tool, the Masterlink is perfect for capturing every improvisational idea that any songwriting session can produce. In addition, it is the perfect storage device for any songwriter to store their entire collection of work. Every songwriter should own a Masterlink.

As a live recording tool, sound engineers can now record extended performances without worrying about changing DAT tapes or blank CD's. This is especially important in recording classical performances where uninterrupted recording is expected.

For the non-studio engineer, the Masterlink is an easy-to-use tool for you and your friends to make your own "Best Of" compilation CD's.

The Alesis MasterLink™ ML-9600 combines hard disk recording, editing, digital signal processing and the world’s most advanced high-resolution CD-R format for creating professional, fully finished two-track masters.

Here's how it works: record your two-track mixes onto MasterLink's internal hard disk. Arrange songs into playlists with precise control of fades and track start points. Fine-tune your master with built-in DSP Finishing Tools™, then record it to CD using inexpensive CD-Rs. MasterLink will create standard 16-bit Red Book CDs, as well as AIFF-compatible high-resolution discs up to 24-bit, 96kHz.

Offering amazing flexibility and control, MasterLink is fully compatible with today’s CD and digital formats, yet it also delivers the high-resolution audio quality you’ll need for the future.

  • Huge internal hard disk recorder...up to five hours of two-track audio capacity
  • Burn CDs using Standard "Red Book" (16-bit/44.1kHz) and high resolution formats…up 24-bit, 96kHz
  • Choose any combination of digital resolutions (16-, 20-, and 24-bit) and sample rates (44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96kHz) with full AIFF compatibility
  • Organize song playlists with total control of fade-ins, fade-outs, track gain, start points, track cropping and more
  • Stores 16 different playlists containing up to 99 songs each
  • Onboard digital signal processing: compression, EQ, limiting, and normalization
