Subject:Good guitar at a great price
Quality: The first guitar I received had a broken cross brace inside. It still sounded great, and the finish was good for the cost. I called AMS and they gave me an RA number and a replacement was shipped quickly.
Reliability: I just got it, so only time will tell, but my other Alvarez's have never had an issue
Overall: You can't beat the sound and quality for the money. I previously had Mahogany backed Alvarez's and decided to get the Rosewood back for the sound. The new model comes with a TUSQ nut and saddle, which I prefer over the plastic that was previously used.
Playability and Feel: The action was excellent for a new guitar. I will probably have the action lowered a bit, but that is personal preference.
Tone: This guitar has a nice mellow, throaty sound that I love.
Finish: The finish is basic, but there were no noticable flaws. In this price range you can't be looking for something flashy, unless you are willing to give up quality. This is a great guitar for a starting player, or someone who is looking for a guitar to travel with and not have to worry about dings that occur along the way.
Action: As I said above, the action is excellent for a stock guitar.
