Ampeg J20 Jet Tube Guitar Combo AmplifierThe Ampeg J20 Jet's retro-styling is highly evocative of the '60s in attitude, as well as tone.
The J20's preamp section boasts not one, but three 12AX7 tubes, and its dual 6V6 output stage operates in fixed-biased mode. The end-result of all this inner tubing is a guitar combo with controllable vintage crunch along with Ampeg's hallmark ease-of-operation. The simple Volume/Tone control setup makes it easy to quickly dial in just the right amount of edge for personal bliss.
With its point-to-point wiring, 5AR4 rectifier tube, 12 inch alnico speaker, and foot-switchable, bias-vary tremolo circuitry, the Ampeg J-20 is a no-compromise guitar combo ideal for even the most tone-obsessed guitarist.

| Extremely high quality. Foreign made, but all point to point wiring. The electrolytic caps might benifit from a change, but all other components are great. Built solid. | | Features:
| Not many features, but that's why you buy it. Sounds very good alone and sounds great with pedals. Tremelo is very good sounding with good range. Alnico speaker is a plus. Also has the rare tube rectifier which is a must for vintage sag. | | Sound:
| Sounds HUGE! At 20 watts, it's extremely loud. Well designed semi-open cabinet gives gigantic bass response. Super clean, BUT it is extremely bright! You'll never need the bright input. However, this abundance of top end does give some grit if you want it. Surprisingly quiet amp. | | Reliability:
| Just got it. Being point to point, it is pretty solid. Cabinet is multi-ply wood so it should hold up. | | Overall:
| If you want a relatively light amp with enough volume for gigs and you like to use pedals, this is THE amp. If you play metal, don't bother. You want ceramic speakers and a solid state rectifier. | | Value:
| A little pricey for an import, but cheaper than most circuit board amps. This thing is MADE for customization. If you want pure sound, this is it. |
