    Product Description

An Ampeg Portaflex PF500 head paired with a PF210HE fliptop cabinet, the PF500 drops 500 watts of bass power using Class D amplification for a lightweight and compact design. Pure Ampeg tone in an extremely portable package.

    Ampeg PF500 Head
The PF500 harnesses the performance of Ampeg's highly-researched MOSFET preamp, setting a new standard for solid-state tone. Tonal control is no problem with the 5-position midrange control and classic ultra hi/lo boosts while features like the direct out with ground lift and pad are perfect for the gigging bassist. There's even onboard compression for a tighter, cleaner tone at high volumes.

    Ampeg PF210HE 2x10 Cabinet
Drawing from the classic design of Ampeg's legendary Portaflex cabinets, the PF210HE combines vintage styling with the performance of a modern 450W cab. The dual Eminence 10 inch drivers push out true Ampeg tone. Since it’s a Portaflex, you can attach any PF Series head to the top, flip it inside and hit the road Ampeg style.

What is your opinion of this product?
I love it. This is my first big bass amp moving up from an old Line6 practice amp and I must say that Im pretty impressed. Great Tone, great adjustability, great range of volume, It can be low enough to practice in the house or loud enough to disturb the neighbors not to mention I haven't tried out the headphone hook up yet.

It is what it is ... not your grandpa's Portaflex
What is your opinion of this product?
I have Four other ampeg products from a "practice amp" to the "rock concert rig" . The bigest issue I have is that the clips that hold the top/amp on vibrate making way too much noise to ever use for recording with any mic. Of course it does have a DI like most Ampeg products but this vibration is very distracting. I knew I was buying a cheaper version of the Portaflex but I don't remember having that issue with the older ones.
