British amplification specialists Ashdown Engineering design and manufacture a range of high-performance amplification for bass, guitar and acoustic instruments.
Combining plentiful power with sophisticated tone shaping facilities, Ashdown's flagship ABM bass amp heads, cabinets and combos are the choice of many leading players including U2's Adam Clayton and System Of A Down's Shavo Odadjian. Advanced features including blendable tube/solid state input stages, 7-band EQ and a built-in sub-harmonic generator.
For busy semi-pro bassists that don't require all the facilities of the ABM range, the Ashdown MAG range delivers classic Ashdown tone in a collection of potent 300W heads, combos and cabs. Despite their affordable prices, the MAGs are feature-packed with 5-band EQ, Bright and Deep switches, sub-harmonic generator and balanced DI output.
Even more affordable are Ashdown's 180W Electric Blue bass amp head, 1 x 12-inch and 1 x 15-inch bass combos. Like the ABM and MAGs, the Electric Blues use Ashdown BlueLine speakers for enhanced attack, power handling and clarity. Features include 5-band EQ, Bright and Deep switches and a sub-harmonic generator, and both combos have extension speaker outputs.
For rehearsing or performing in small venues, Ashdown's After Eight, Perfect Ten and Five Fifteen bass combos deliver unmistakable Ashdown tone in compact, affordable packages.
Ashdown are similarly innovative in guitar amplification, with their mighty Fallen Angel 180 all tube head using no less than six EL34s in the output section to ensure masses of power on tap. Aimed squarely at high-gain, nu-metal and 7-string players, the FA180 features 3 channels with sophisticated 4-way switching and dual independent FX loops. Fallen Angel 40 and 60 combos are available for players requiring less power.
With advanced features including active, piezo and phantom powered low impedance inputs, dual tweeter array drivers, notch filters, digital reverb and balanced DI outputs, Ashdown Acoustic Radiators set new standards for clarity, projection and the elimination of feedback. And with superb British cabinet making, the AAR1 and AAR2 acoustic combos look as good as they sound – resonator guitar players even have their very own polished metal Ashdown Acoustic amp, the Reso 1.
