Audio Technica AT3035 Condenser Microphone

The Audio Technica AT3035 studio condenser mic features a large diaphragm to accurately reproduce vocals and instruments with fine detail and low noise. Its wide frequency range of 20Hz - 20kHz, and sky-high 148dB SPL make it ideal for use with anything from a delicate vocal to a slammin' bass guitar cabinet. With its extended low-frequency response, the AT3035 produces rich, full sound reproduction and handles extremely high sound pressure levels with ease. Tailored for a smooth, natural sound, this mic is a perfect complement for digital recording equipment. Along with its rugged construction and high-performance specifications, the AT3035 provides an exceptional level of consistency from model to model. The AT3035 also provides a bass roll-off switch (-10dB at 80hZ) and a -10dB pad. The 3035 includes a shockmount and a soft carry pouch and requires 11-52V phantom power.

Subject:Great mic for the price!!!

QUALITY:
When I first got this mic it was well packed and looked perfect. This is a solid mic for this price range.

FEATURES:
I use this mic mainly for vocals so the cardioid pattern works fine most of the time but selectable patterns would be nice.

EASE OF USE:
plug and play with +48V

VALUE:
This mic is hard to beat for the price.

SOUND:
This mic is nice and smooth. Not too harsh. This mic also has a nice low end although I would like a little more high end sparkle.

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:

Subject:Great 1st condenser
Overall:

QUALITY:
Looks good, built well. I dropped it once from two feet onto a carpeted floor (oops, mic stand tipped), a/b'd tracks from before and after with same source and placement, no difference to my ear or analyzers.

FEATURES:
The low end roll off for acoustic guitar.

OVERALL:
This thing works on most everything I've put it in front of. The low end roll off is useful for acoustic dreadnought guitars (D-18 and D-28) and their inherent boominess. With a tube pre it makes a wonderful vox mic on my baritone voice. Crank up the Marshall to 11, keep the signal dry, and it sounds like Ron Wood is hanging out in your studio. The only downside to this mic to me: the back of the cardiod tends to "muddy" up rather than "reject", watch the reflections.

Great microphone. Can perform similar to higher quality mics.

FEATURES:
Rolloff is very handy. Works well with loud or low voices.

EASE OF USE:
It's a mic. Plug and play.

VALUE:
Great value. Some might not want to spend 200 bucks. You can spend less for a mic, but your results may vary.

SOUND:
Great sound with certain voices.
