Product Description

The Audio Technica AT4033CL was originally introduced in 1991 and almost singly-handedly shaped the market for high-quality, affordable studio condenser mics. Its strong up-front presence and versatility made it an instant hit for vocals and instruments. The new Audio Technica 4033 Classic brings it all back, with a cardioid polar pattern and a vapor-deposited gold-plated aged-diaphragm capacitor element for accurate reproduction of even the subtlest sounds. The AT4033CL has an extended flat frequency response of 30-20,000 Hz, a wide dynamic range, and the ability to handle high SPLs without sacrificing high-frequency performance. Includes shock mount, a dust cover, and a protective mic case. The AT4033/CL is intended for use in professional applications where remote power is available. It requires 48V DC phantom power, which may be provided by a mixer or console, or by a separate, in-line source such as the Audio-Technica AT8801 single-channel and CP8506 four-channel phantom power supplies. An integral 80 Hz high-pass filter provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. The high-pass position reduces the microphone’s sensitivity to popping in close vocal use. It also reduces the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.), room reverberation and mechanically coupled vibrations.

General
Your general opinion of this product.
I already own the 10th anniversary model 4033Se and have used it in many situations at my studio, I wanted another one to use to record piano.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This mic is made really well, I particularly like the AT 8449 shock mount that come with it. I had to buy another at 8449 shock mount because the one that originally came with my anniversary model wasn't made so well. Looks like Audio Technica figured that out.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Again made well and all adjustments and switches work great. Come with a nice protection bag that fits over the mic and shock mount when your not using it.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
How about some Audio Technica Stickers that would be cool.
Sound
How is the tone?
This is a great mike like I said before I have used it in many situations, like Horns, Acoustic Guitars, aand works really great on vocals, I would highly recommend this mic if your looking for a pro sound without spending the big bucks.
