BBE BMAX T Bass Guitar PreampThe BBE BMAX-T is a high quality tube bass preamp/processor with applications both in the recording studio and on the road in demanding live applications.
No other bass preamp on the market can approach the total quality, professional feature set and incredible tone of the BMAX-T. At the heart of the BMAX-T is a class A, DC regulated tube preamp section - a classic tube preamp that recalls the traditional designs of the 50's and 60's. The BMAX-T features a high voltage (300V) tube front end with hand-picked Groove Tubes 12AX7 tube, providing all of the pre-amp gain and passive interactive tone control. The high-end DI section is transformer-balanced with a genuine Jensen transformer for the ultimate in warmth and presence. 1% metal film resistors, military-spec PC board and custom-made toroidal power transformer complete the no-compromise design of the BMAX-T.
While no expense was spared in the engineering and internal componentry, the packaging of the BMAX-T received the utmost attention to detail. From the 1/4 inch thick extruded front panel to thoughtfully designed ergonomics to the red-abalone-topped knobs, the fit and finish of the BMAX-T exudes quality craftsmanship.

| I've been using Groove Tube The Brick for my bass direct to mixer until I purchase the Bmax-t. First, I was skeptical about this since ther were so many mixed reviews, but I ordered anyway since American Musical offers 45 days to return if I don't like it. When I first plugged in to my bass, I wasn't too sure if I was going to keep it or not since I was used to sound of the Brick that's tight and very clean with lot's of charater, but more and more I play with it, I'm getting to love what it does! | | Features:
| It has Class-A Tube pre, Low, Mid, Hi EQ section with separate Mid control, single control compressor, and Sonic Maximizer. You just can't beat this! | | Sound:
| You can get many different sounds from this piece since there are many features. Most importantly, this gear is dead quite when it's plugged in by it self. I believe this is most important factor when picking a pre-amp for recording (or live too.) I still love the sound from the Brick, so I'm running chain of Bmax-T to mic input of the Brick. This way I can get nice silky sound from Bmax-T and gut shaking in you face sound from the Brick. | | Playability and Feel:
| It's well built and knobs feels smooth. It's not a cheap piece of gear. I just hope it had a headphone out and a true bypass switch. | | Tone:
| It create very clean tones so if you are looking for distortion or heavy feeling, it ain't good for you. Although, I ran it with an Ampeg plug-in from the Pro-Tools and it sounded awesome. | | Finish:
| great finish, no complaints. | | Action:
| Worked right out of the box. | | Date submitted:
