I love this thing
What is your overall opinion of this product?
This comes with a Duncan Design HB103B pickup which is a korean made version of a SH-6B Duncan Distortion. These are classic sounding high gain pups. Even though it sounded great I still swapped it out for a TB-4. The same coils but, with my favorite alnico 5 magnet.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
This is a high quality asian made guitar. It is made for hard rock and metal. I use it with heavy guage 11's and keep it tuned down to drop C. Love it.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Nice C shape neck and one knob that goes to 11.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Thick tone.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Beautiful Onyx black.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Very nice craftsmanship.
How was the action out of the box?
Setup and good to go just like Yelawolf would say but, I did have to adjust the springs when restringing with 11's. Since I keep to tuned low they didn't need to be tightened to much.
