BC Rich Mockingbird Really Sings
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
BC Rich Mockingbird far exceeded my expectations. I certainly wasn't expecting junk, but the Mockingbird really flies. The beautiful binding is smooth and even, glassy shine and the lines and shapes are different. It's going to get a lot of great comments.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had it a short time, but it looks like this may be one of my go-to guitars for my studio work.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Well constructed, great eye candy and tremendous sound
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The body of the guitar is smaller than I am used to, but that's OK because it means it's also a little lighter than some of my others. Lighter guitar for a player with a bad back = happy customer.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pick up are medium hot, but you can roll off some high end to get more growl and a thicker but very creamy sound.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The guitar is flawless. And I looked it over really well. Kudos to the finishing department.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action right out of the box was perfect. Just the way I like it. Lower action is good for me, but I often find a guitar with some string buzz somewhere. Not on this one.
