The Behringer AB200 is an Ultra-Flexible Dual Programmable A-B Footswitch.
This universal, ultra-compact 2-channel footswitch is an ideal accessory for stage and studio applications. Use it on gear featuring external control functions such as guitar amps, keyboards, rhythm machines, lighting products and so on. You can easily switch between two input signals into one output or vice versa (e.g. switch between two guitars using one amplifier or two amplifiers with one guitar). Latching/ non-latching modes are selectable for both channels:
- Non-latch mode momentarily engages the switch while you hold down the pedal
- Latch mode changes the On/Off status each time you press the pedal
Behringer has relied on relay switching technology for ultra-high impedance and highest signal integrity. There are dedicated LED indicators for precise status control, and you can combine multiple AB200s by using the side-mount interlock. You will need one 9 V battery for operation (not included). | Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| The actual switching works well, quiet. |
|
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| Looks OK. Too early to tell |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I can see it being broken on about the third battery change. Disassembly required to install battery. Does not come apart or go back together easily. LEDs look quite vulnerable during this process |
|
| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Mixed. The switch does a good job connecting one guitar to two "clean" amps - very quiet switching and no noticeable hum. Unfortuneately, if one of the amps is set to high gain, the switch produces an annoying buzz on that amp, whether its active or not.
Since I bought the switch to change between clean amp and crunch amp, it isn't going to cut it for me. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| I rate it low here because it is only playable in limited applications. I don't know why someone would buy a switch to change bewteen two clean amps - not me anyway |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Aside from the annoying buzz, the tone appears unaltered |
