I added a spool to take up the space in the mounting hole. I use them for small gigs. They are great. Everyone who hears them say the same thing. I'm not into the big bang. I like my music to be moderate and clear. Made very well. Light and extremely sturdy. Yes you can buy a high quality powered speaker for under 200.00. Fit and finish are perfect and all controls are of high quality. Features: Pretty much has everything you need and then some. Easily used standalone by itself with the built in mixer system. I keep looking for a reason to replace them but can not find one. Ease of Use: I had a pair of em mounted on speaker poles and running in under 10 minutes. I use these as rear speakers in my 6 speaker setup using an Allen and Heath ZED12fx mixer. Sound: The tone is very good. They actually surprised me with the power and tone adjustments. Very closely matched to my Yamaha 8 inch speakers which I use with them. Value: I am extremely picky about name brands and was going to buy another pair of Yamaha powered speakers but I took a chance and saved a bundle that allowed me to purchase few hundred dollars of other gear which I wanted.
