| The mic seems to be well made. Solid. Nice plastic box with foam insert. | | Features:
| Really no features. No pad switches, etc.
The best feature? omni directional, 20-20K, low noise.
I would have never thought of using "measurement-type" mics for recording, but various mag articles pushed me this way, and I am happy they did. | | Ease of Use:
| Plug into a phantom powered connection and you're good to go.
Being an omni directional mic, mic placement seems to be less of a problem with this mic. I just aim near what I want to record (acoustic guitar, voice, etc) and press the record button.
You gotta be carefull with the environment however. It picks up everything. | | Sound:
| Very clear, no color. Exactly what I want for acoustic guitar, violin, and other acoustic instruments.
I have a ton of mics, and for their ease of use and non-coloration of the sound, I tend to go with these more often than not. Several recent mag articles regarding this type of omni condenser mic pushed me to try the ECM8000s and they have not dissappointed. Incredibly crystal clear recordings.
I have been saying alot lately that the chinese import mics (Studio Projects B1, CADs, ATs, ECM8000) have improved a significant amount. They're perfect for the home studio where the environment is not perfect. Don't waste $$$$ on mics if you don't have a pristine mic-ready studio. | | Do you own this product?:

| | | Subject: | EXCELLENT VALUE - GOOD for Ac. Guitars | | Quality:
| Well built - very solid and no defects. Good case of molded BAS with cutout foam, wind cover and mic clip. | | Features:
| Sounds like an OMNI should - tried on Ac. Guitars and sounded better than much more expensive cardiod mics I have - good signal and very little self-noise. Those who say otherwise are hearing the room noise, NOT the mic. It's an OMNI - anything making nouse in the room (air, fans, etc...) WILL be picked up. | | Ease of Use:
| Matches well with my Millennia, Universal Audio and TL-Audio pres. Good signal strength and clean. | | Sound:
| Sounds very natural - perhaps not as warm as an Earthworks but, considering the HUGE difference in price it's an unbelievable deal. Compares very favorably to much more expensive cardiod microphones I have and this has now become one of my favorite for nylon string guitars. | | Do you own this product?:
