| My K450FX arrived last week, and after giving it a thorough "exam", I must say that I was quite impressed with the overall quality of the unit. The "fit and finish" were perfect, and the materials seemed to be of high level and more than I could ask for in such a reasonably priced amp. | | Features:
| I love the compact size and weight of the unit, along with the idea that everything is self-contained, which will make it a joy to use at my next small gig. I also love the multiple, individually controllable channels, the CD input jacks, and the built-in effects. | | Sound:
| I've just used the K450FX at home for rehearsing, and consequently haven't "cranked it" yet, so I can't comment upon the sound at higher volumes. However, I had the Master Volume at "3", and found it plenty loud for my "one-man" practice. The few mini-shows I play each year are in rooms with 50-75 people, and I'm quite sure this amp will handle that without a hitch. As far as the channels, I ran a mic into the first one, fiddled around with the various reverb, delay, and multi-effects programs until I found a number of them which will serve me well. Many of the effects programs sound very good, while others are merely okay. But as I play guitar through a VOX Tonelab, which I had ordered from AMS last year, I have no need for effects other than for vocals, and the K450FX seems to fit the bill quite well for me. The Graphic Equalizer works well too, and the sound is easily shaped with it. | | Reliability:
| As I said, I've only had the unit for a week, and haven't used it yet at a live gig. But from what I can see, I don't have any doubts as to the reliabilty of this amp. Plus, I love the fact that AMS gives me the extra One Year on the factory warranty from Behringer, so for the next two years, I'm completely covered. | | Overall:
| The K450FX is the perfect PA "system" for me. The features, the sound, plus the very reasonable price, made my choice an easy one. It really seems as if Behringer has worked very hard at building a high quality product at a price that musicians can handle. | | Value:
| For me, the K450FX is the best value out there in a compact, one piece, PA system. Other units I looked at were also designed with similar features and high quality, but cost substantially more, and I just felt that the Behringer was the "right one". |
