Behringer MS40 Powered Studio Monitors

Behringer MS40 Studio Monitors are 24-Bit/192 kHz Digital 40-Watt Stereo Near Field Speakers.
These compact, super-affordable 2 x 20-Watt near field monitors feature ultra-high resolution 24-bit/192 kHz D/A converters, which let you connect digital sources directly in order to eliminate analog line-loss and hum. Connect your computer sound card, keyboard, MP3 & Mini Disc players and enjoy excellent detail and great dynamics—Optical and coaxial inputs to directly connect digital audio sources by S/PDIF interface! The built-in amplifiers offer plenty of headroom, while the powerful woofers and tweeters provide an ultra-linear frequency response. Two stereo analog inputs featuring 1/8-inch TRS and stereo RCA connectors can be used simultaneously or mixed with a digital stereo source. The speakers also feature individual volume controls for both Line inputs plus Bass and Treble EQ controls, and there is a 1/4-inch TRS headphone connector with a front-panel auto-mute loudspeaker function.

Subject:I guess not bad for the price?
Quality: Yes and no... Good frame and solid speaker, just no power. Now I am going to now buy better quality speakers for taking the cheap way out.
Features: The easy and best features are being able to use RCA/Optical plug-in's in the rear. The knobs are easy to figure out with the option to put head-phones in the front.
Ease of Use: The speakers are really easy to use, and works well with what ever you are trying to accomplish recording wise. If you have any knowledge how to hook up a stereo system you won't have trobble figuring these out. The Manual reads easy, and the speaker do work, and are well constructed.
Sound: Very weak considering these are studio monitors.
Reliability: They hold up well and are quite solid.
Overall: Well ok I was looking to get some monitor speakers but really didn't want to pay $400.00 dollars a pop. Maybe I should have waited. The speakers are well put together and durable. But honestly they have no power what-so-ever. If you throw to much Sub Bass on these things they pop. To me I would expect monitors to handle sub-basses fairly well since they are designed to hear the clarity of what you are recording. The power is just not there, when I pump them up they pop. I know what I am doing, and I have stereo speakers that can handle a ton more sound without punking out. If your looking for cheap these are it. If your looking for power or if you like to feel your music...nope! I would say they fall short of power. I was really dissapointed but didn't want to fool with packing them back up and sending it back.. They just didn't cost that much to begin with. I would def. say save the extra money and buy a higher quality monitor for your studio. You will thank me.
