Behringer SX2442FX Eurodesk 4 Bus Mixer

The Behringer Eurodesk SX series is designed to meet the needs of studio and live mixing applications, with a comprehensive set of features & sound modification tools.
Behringer SX2442FX Analog Mixer is a four bus mixer that features XENYX microphone preamps. Mono input channels feature three-band, semi-parametric mid-range EQ with Neo-classic British response. Stereo input channels provide four band equalization. Each input has four aux sends; with two sends switchable between pre/post fader, for a flexible mix of monitor and effects applications.

External signal processing racks can be largely eliminated, thanks to the SX Series’ two integrated effects processors and stereo 9-band graphic EQ. One-hundred 24-bit / 96kHz studio-quality effects presets can be called-up and assigned to one or both internal effects buses. Main or Monitor output EQ is set and fine-tuned with the intuitive FBQ Feedback Detection display.

When external processing is required, the SX Series provides extensive insert patch-points for input channels and main outputs. The Master section offers features such as multiple aux and stereo returns, switchable SIP / PFL monitoring, Talkback, metering and more.

An internal auto-ranging power supply (100 – 240V), gold-plated XLR output connectors and rugged steel construction ensure that the SX Series consoles will travel anywhere.
Getting all the gear you need to complete your PA system can be a chore. AMS offers complete PA packages that take the guesswork out, and make assembling the perfect sound system easy—while saving you money. Click Here to see all the details.

Subject:Great Board!!! Behringer comes through again. Behringer FOR LIFE... Or until I can afford higher.
Quality: I like the quality of this board as well as the look. I was shopping around for a mixer and I looked at multiple brands, the Mackie looks good, as well as the Phonic & Helix but this board "to me" has the look you want to see. I was very surprised at the sound quality and effects of this board. If you tweak it right you can get some amazing sound out of this thing. I do R&B and Hip Hop and some Rock and its great for the dynamics in all of these genres.
Features: I like the FX and the Sub features on this board and the EQ section on each channel does the job. Sturdy knobs, easy slders. Only one complaint on my 9band EQ at the top of the board... The last 2 faders on the left are a little stiff when it comes to sliding, but not a big enough issue for me to send the board back and as well it puts a uniqueness to it cause I know its my board.
Ease of Use: Easy to use, just read the manual. Also, I would like to mention you can do direct outputs on this board using the Insert I/O inputs. But you do have to buy a special adapter that will allow output on the tip and ring side. Live Wire makes these for about $12 bucks.
Sound: Sound is Great... No air No fuss. You only get air and noise when the gain is turned all the way up. If your having to turn up the gain a whole lot on this board then you probably need to check the source... You know, Behringer gets a bad wrap for the sound because its inexpensive, and that dosen't mean that its cheap like the other guy said... Usually its Mackie users who Hate on the Behringer and some others too but fact is, if you ask the same Mackie users have they ever used a Behringer chances are that they haven't. Some people just stay loyal to their brands. Well I've had both. I started out with Mackie 10 years ago. I switched to Behringer once and have been using it since. Don't believe the comp. This is a good board for your money.
Reliability: Fairly new board for me still in the first month. But like I said earlier, I had 2 other Behringers and never had a issue.
Overall: This board is tight. I'm happy with it and it brings a certain prestige to my studio. The only reason I would get another board is for direct firewire on each mixer channel, but with a 8chan interface that is not even needed. With the digital age I felt that I didn't even need a mixer when I could record up to 8 inputs individually at the same time. Intergrating this mixer into the setup has broadened my ability and how I will use my studio and the features of this board.

Subject:Excellent board for the price
Quality: Yes, it is well-made, but it doesn't have the ruggedness of a Mackie or other expensive board. Just realize what you are buying... get a case or a strong gigbag for it if you are going to use it on the road, and it should last a long time.
Features: It has two built-in effects units that are more than adequate for a bar band or coffeehouse. The built-in talkback mic works through the Aux sends, so the operator can talk through the monitors instead of over the mains. The "All Mute" button is a godsend... you can mute everything except the tape player with one button, so playing recorded music on breaks is very simple.
Ease of Use: The board is fairly basic for anyone who has used a larger mixer. You have to understand that it includes some thing that you don't find on boards of the past, such as two effects units, but taking a few minutes with the manual familiarizes you with the layout and routing scheme.
Sound: The channel EQs are what you would expect from any board... the main EQ is nice, but I use a larger 31-band EQ for the mains for more control. You can use the on-board EQ for the Aux sends, and it is adequate for monitor mixes.
Reliability: My board is still fairly new, but with some care, I think it will be fine. It has already been used for practices and one live gig, and came through with flying colors.
Overall: Inexpensive doesn't always mean cheap. This board is well thought out and is fairly easy to use. The manual gives you solid info on what each section and knob do, and the rest is up to you. It is so compact that it looks like a toy sometimes, but it isn't a toy. There is a lot of control in this unit, if you only experiment a bit.

Subject:A good mixer for beginners
Quality: This is a GOOD quality product for the price. I've had mine for 3 years now and played a lot of shows with it.
Features: I like the effects it has and the mono output is killer for running my subs. It would be nice if it had a light hook up for it.
Ease of Use: It's very easy to use. A good product for the beginner.
Sound: Ok, this is the one section of this rating I am VERY pleased to comment on! The sound it provides is awesome! We mix everything..vocals, drums, keys, guitars and bass and the sound is truly amazing! Everyone always compliments us on our sound!
Reliability: 3 years and still going.
Overall: This is my second mixer, only because the first one they sent me one of the mute buttons didn't work, but the return policy was excellent. I had my new board before I even sent the first one back. 2 complaints tho: the phantom power light comes on when I'm not even using it and if you lose power for just a second the board resets itself and there's no way to determine that your board reset until you look at the settings on the effects. This has caused some problems in the past, so now I have to keep checking on the board every once in awhile to make sure it didn't reset. Also there's no repair center even close to me. I live in New York and the only tech support place in the US. is in California!

Subject:Good enough to get you going
Quality: Really high quality for a cheap price. Only one gripe I have is the talk-back button makes noise when you press it, this alone isn't bad, but its right next to the talk-back mic. So you will hear the switch through the talk back section.
Features: Has enough to do most anything a bar band could ask it to.
Ease of Use: If you know what you're doing, it will take a few seconds to learn where everything is by feel. If this is your first mixer, you'll need to read the manual.
Sound: There is no tone, its transparent.
Reliability: have not had it long, but it gives me the impression its not going to die easy.
Overall: Can't complain, you're getting a very good deal with this one. Sure its not going to turn heads, but it will get the job done. That is what matters.
