Behringer Guitar Link UCG102 Guitar to USB Interface

The GUITAR LINK UCG102 interface is an amazing practice tool that lets you hook up your guitar to your computer in a flash, giving you the best of both worlds.
The UCG102 guitar-to-USB interface lets you jam and record using modeling amps and effects without the need for any other gear but your guitar. The compact interface links your electric guitar to a PC or Mac computer via a typical USB cable, allowing you to rock with sophisticated software such as the included Guitar Combos BEHRINGER Edition from Native Instruments, Kristal Audio Engine multi-track sequencer and Audacity audio editor. It also features a Headphone output for silent practicing.

Overall:

QUALITY:
Behringer as always, creates high quality products. Featuring a solid enclosed interface. The inputs have little to no room to work themselves loose. As far as durability goes, this interface, with average wear and tear should last the user for years.

FEATURES:
The independent headphone volume dial is great for headphones that do not have their own volume control. And depending on the application this is used for, the High and Low switch, in combination to the clipping LED, The user should be able to get the sound levels needed for their project. The included Guitar Combos software by Native Instruments allow the user to achieve an insurmountable variety of sounds, although the software could of had more in depth instructions, you can still rock it out of the box.

EASE OF USE:
As Easy as plugging into an available USB port, and installing the ASIO driver(For Windows)that is included on the CD, Using the Behringer UCG102 Guita

Subject:Behringer's UCG102 Guitar to USB Interface Is Good
Overall:

QUALITY:
The construction quality seem solid, my only worry is the slider switch on the side breaking off. I am not a fan of the USB pig tail design, and I wish they went with a device D style jack instead of the hard wired pig tail.

FEATURES:
The switch on the side adjusts the level of the signal. The idea is if the clipping indicator LED activates, then operate the switch. In my opinion this is unnecessary, and that should be controlled in the software. Behringer boasts CD quality from the analog to digital converter in the device, and they are correct. I can convert an analog signal to a digital signal with 16 bit 44.1khz sampling. 24 bit 96khz sampling would be ideal for sampling, because of signal loss during mixdown and mastering, but CD quality is good enough for most hobbyists and home users.

EASE OF USE:
This device is extremely easy to use. To get the most out of it, you should be computer savvy. For you Linux/

QUALITY:
Seems to be made well, like it would hold up if dropped.

FEATURES:
Just an audio device. No input volume control except for a level switch from hi to low, which doesn't do much at all. No effects on board, but does come with Guitar Combo software.

EASE OF USE:
Easy to use, but since volume level is so low I had to spend time trying to figure out how to compensate for it.

VALUE:
This would be a great value if it worked.

SOUND:
Sound is aweful because the levels are so low. I've tried two different guitars and set the level switch on high and still can't get a good level. This is unusable if you can't get a decent level when recording.
