Ease of Use
It's great!
Your general opinion of this product.
For a compact mixer, the Behringer Xenyx502 offers alot of bang for the buck!
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
At first, I would have thought this was a little cheesy, but it is very well made. I have been using it as a multi-channel pre-mixer to my power amp, allowing me to take the outputs from two modeling effects units and a mic (or unified mono source) and control their levels easily without having to keep walking between my station and the mains/power amp.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Very easy to use! A very basic unit and easy enough for the beginner to learn.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Particularly, I like the ability to send the "tape" input to the "Headphone" output, allowing you to send the main mix to a recording device and monitor the actual signal from that device... without creating a feedback loop at the "mains" level. I WOULD like to see, perhaps, a model adding one more XLR input (creating a total of 6 channels, instead of 5). Behringer's next-step-up is an 8 channel model.
How is the tone?
The tone is awesome. I DO enjoy their "neo-classic British EQ", providing a novel tone without degrading signal quality.
How has it stood up over time?
I haven't had this unit for very long, but I can say that I'm sure this will do very well. My gigging/practice schedule puts enough on any of my equipment to thoroughly test my audio equipment pretty quickly. Particularly, my location being in upstate New York and the current season of Winter adds the additional tests of extreme temperature changes, humidity changes and dirty/muddy shoe bottoms.
