The closed back tuned design and (red framed) Blackheart model 1216B Speaker by Eminence is the fruit of extensive research involving Crate and Eminence. The result is a very tight and responsive cabinet. In fact, all of the BH112's cabinet joinery is based on classic, proven design for tone and roadworthiness.

Pyotr Belov, whose own hand built amps have commanded thousands of dollars over the years, designs every amplifier in the infamous two-car garage. Pyotr's BHE designs begin as hand-wired, point-to-point masterpieces tweaked until they sing like little glass and metal Gods. Every single component is selected to make the best amplifier tone and performance possible and then engineered to be manufactured in quantity so that every guitar player can access a great sounding, durable and sexy little tube amp.
Pyotr personally selects a very small number of qualifying offshore manufactures and stands over their shoulders to make sure that nothing gets lost in the translation. He specifies every tube, every component and approves everything one piece at a time, right down to the piping and tolex. It's a very straightforward process that no other manufacture of high-end tube amps can say they undertake. That's no surprise when you figure that Pyotr sometimes spends weeks away from home and out of the country teaching others how to handcraft amplifiers to his expectations.
