Four selected KT88 power valves form the backbone of the Blackstar Series One 200 watt high gain power house and provide unbelievable dynamics and head-room.
The DPR control allows the power to be reduced down to 20 watts for beautiful power amp distortion at a much lower volume level. Setting new standards in tonal flexibility, the deceptively simple preamp section has four world-beating channels (6 modes) which are further augmented by dual ISF controls. With Series One customization comes as standard and you will effectively design your own sound.

|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| This is still yet to be determined. Working with the amp the tubes run hot. It will keep you warm in winter. The peavey6505 never gave any heat off for a tube amp. Research says tube amps get hot. so time will tell how it holds up |

| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Every Month I found some new sound, or re-tweek the EQ and find something exciting about this. I am an american metal player mostly and had the coveted peavey6505 before this amp, and just couldnt find my sound. Right out of the box this thing sounded great!
Only complaint is this head is 77 lbs withmost of the wieght on one side where the transformers are and a handle on the top. Wish it had side handles. |
