Boss RC2 Loop Station Pedal

The Boss RC2 is an authentic loop station in a stomp box package!
No one creates Loop Stations like BOSS. Already in heavy demand around the world are the twin sized BOSS RC20XL and the deluxe, extra-wide RC50. Now comes an ultra-compact member of the RC family, the RC2. Housed in a compact-pedal case, the RC2 puts a surprising amount of features in a stompbox.

Boss RC2 Features
  • Up to 16 minutes of record time
  • Loop Quantize for perfect loop timing
  • Realistic Guide-Tone drum patterns
  • Easy, logical overdubbing and navigation
  • Undo/Redo function
  • 11 phrases can be stored and recalled
  • AUX input to capture phrases from external audio device
  • External pedal input (stop/tempo)
Record, Layer, Loop, & Store
The RC2 can record and store up to 16 mono minutes of audio, either from your own instrument or other external input devices, such as MP3 players-recorders. Each of your layered loop creations can be stored to one of 11 internal patch preset locations.

Feature Rich
It records, layers, and loops, but the RC2 also provides a wealth of other handy and powerful features, such as a jam-along Rhythm Guide, Auto Start, Tap Tempo, Loop Quantize, and Undo-Redo.

Friendly Operation
In traditional BOSS fashion, the RC2 benefits from a clean and friendly user interface. As powerful as this little Loop Station is, it’s a dream to operate. Thanks to its clearly labeled buttons and knobs, the RC2 puts everything directly under your fingertips, with no hidden menus or commands to impede the creative process.

Pedalboard Ready
Thousands of guitarists rely on BOSS’ ultra convenient BCB series pedalboards for organizing their effects pedals. Due to its standard compact-pedal shape and size, the RC2 fits perfectly alongside other BOSS pedals. Great for fast setup and convenient transportation.

Meet the Family
Thanks to the RC2, there’s now a BOSS Loop Station for every size and budget. With the super-deluxe RC50 at the top of the line, and the twin-size RC20XL in the middle of the range, the RC2 represents the most compact and affordable Loop Station.

Subject:RC-2 is what I was looking for
Quality: I haven't had any problems with the product... It seems well made and dependable.
Sound: Sounds great. The RC-2 also features an auxiliary audio input that allows me to plug an iPod or CD player into it and record phrases of songs that I want to work on. You can also slow and saved phrase down, allowing practice at slower tempos without affecting the pitch of the original song.
Reliability: Built strong and sturdy like other Boss pedals.
Overall: I didn't need delay effects built into my looper. I wanted a small looper that wouldn't take up much space on my pedalboard. Even though there is only one footswitch on the RC-2, it does have the option of plugging in two other unlatched switches for the added features of a tap tempo footswitch as well as a phrase selector. I did want some drum beats and patterns that I would be able to practice with. It is nice to have two separate volume knobs, one for the drum pattern and one for the recorded phrases, so once you record a phrase, you can turn the drum track off if desired. With a total of 16 minutes of record time, the RC-2 does a great job allowing me to be able to record long phrases and overdub phrases without having to worry about running out of space.
Playability and Feel: The only negative thing that I have to say about the playability of the RC-s is that with only one footswitch built in, you can't easily control all of the features of the looper while playing. I was looking for a small footprint on my pedalboard, and this is one of the sacrifices that I was willing to make.
Tone: Tone seems unaffected running through the RC-2.
Finish: Nice Fire-truck red finish
Action: Has good action, similar to other Boss pedals.
Skill Level: Intermediate
