This demo shows the SD1 with the DRIVE control at a lower level and TONE set a only about a third. Good for a bluesy sound.

With DRIVE set low and LEVEL turned all the way up, the SD1 functions as a gain booster, augmenting amp distortion and providing deeper, thicker sounds.

Subject:Works great between my guitar and Metal Zone.
Quality: Well made metal casing like all boss pedals.
Reliability: I have had it a year, still sounds the same as always.
Overall: Is a great boost in front of my Boss Metal Zone distortion pedal. Helps me get a great high gain sound for hard rock, punk, metal death metal and grindcore.
Playability and Feel: Knobs and foot switch seem to work well.
Tone: Has a nice bright sound.
Finish: Its bright yellow. Looks good next to my black Metal Zone pedal.
Action: It is a pedal.
