The Breedlove American KO VTG Vintage Mandolin is a classic style, re-envisioned. It has a design that harkens back to the golden era of mandolin making, this new KO Vintage model combines the best traditional construction elements with Breedlove's cutting edge aesthetics and attention to detail. The result is an instrument with a deeper, throatier voice, with lots of bark and plenty of bass.
The K series of Breedlove mandolins became an instant classic. Through the mind and hands of Kim Breedlove, the traditional Florentine shape has been transformed into a more modern, less rounded version of itself. The American KO has an oval sound hole that provides nice resonance and an open tone. This innovative design combines the traditional woods of Sitka Spruce for the top and Western Maple for the back and sides creating lots of sustain and volume. With a radiused fingerboard and oversize frets, Breedlove mandolins are extremely comfortable to play. A vintage semi-gloss sunburst finish compliments the asymmetrical shape wonderfully.
