Subject:Believe the right hype
Quality: Yes it failed, being one of the first few hundred made, but Bugera did me right and fixed it in 4 days at their expense. The amp sounded great before it failed. When it came back from repair I turned it on and it allmost ate me, it is now a beast on fire in rage.
Sound: The amp has a strong midrange so you can really adjust the mids in or out, your pref. The gain on this amp is just right, it winds up to a searing hi gain metal when wide open but doesn't flub or get washed out. It is strong, tight and all metal. I have played for 20 plus years.
Reliability: My amp was one of the first to come out. My serial number is 6003XX (x is for numbers). I am sure that the new amps don't have the wiring problem the first amps did that caused quite a few to basically short out and fail. It was a problem with a connector not being up to par in connecting high volts to the main board. If your amp fails you have warranty so why complain? I got mine fixed in 4 days at Bugeras expense and it came back sounding better than it ever had and that was what really did it for me. The amp blew me away at first but after the repair it was a monster. Its got at least 40 hours since repaired and is fine. The amp gets used allmost daily. My advice is if you buy one, be prepared to play your guitar. The amp works a bedroom volumes with high gain or wind the sucker up which you should do when you can. Play the heck out of it while its in warranty. If you have a problem get it fixed. If no problems or you get them fixed, the amp will be OK when the warr is out.
Overall: I have owned a 333XL since they first came out and yes I had problems but they were fixed in 4 days at Bugera's expense. The NEW 333XL amps do NOT have the transformer wiring 'issue' that the very first amps did. You will not have a amp that breaks down. IF it does, they fix it right away and fast at their expense. I think a lot of people who rag on this amp are people who are jealous and should just fork out the measly 500 bucks and get one, then jam. The amp definately without a doube sounds great, total metal, death metal, modern metal. This am smokes my mesa dual rectifier and JCM800. It doesn't smoke my ENGL Fireball but its played just about as much.
Playability and Feel: Its all tube and 120 watts, can you hear it now?, listen...
Tone: Its a high gain tube amp with lots of volume(level) if that is what you like, get one. For the price you can't go wrong, I see they have gone up in price slightly, get it now.
Finish: The amp has cheap plastic that is fake chrome on the front. I took it off at first but wound up putting it back on. Its not that bad. The grill and back cover give the amp great circulation and it needs it at the volumes I run it at.
Action: The amp sounds great out of the box, put it on channel three (for heavy sound) and select the buttons for a heavier sound and turn the reverb down not up. Run the gain at 3 o'clock to start with and adjust the 3 band EQ as needed. Get the volume up and adjust the gain, you will love it. Always turn on standby FIRST when you are powering on, then the main power. Do this in reverse when you power off or after you switch off main power reset the standby for next power up. NEVER OPERATE ANY TUBE AMPLIFIER WITHOUT A 'LOAD' (SPEAKER CAB) CONNECTED TO IT, it is not like a solid state amp (marshall MG) you will burn up your transformers and may get smoke and all. Tube amps are not delicate, they are tuff as heck, but they must be used correctly. Use it right, read your manual, and it will last you a lifetime.

Subject:Really Happy with this Amp!!!!
Quality: It is made well. I think the earlier ones had a bug that they worked out. This amp seems to be made better than a new marshall amp.
Sound: The tone is amazing! It's so easy to dial in your sound. I hear most people talking about metal music with this amp, but it's also great for Alternative, Rock, and Punk. My band plays a big veriety of music and this amp cuts through the mix and sounds great for all of it!!
Reliability: I have only owned it for a few months. So far it seems pretty reliable. I play pretty hard on it. Make sure the tubes are biased correctly, and let the amp warm up before you play on it and it should be fine.
Overall: I heard bad stories about this amp right after I bought it. It came and sounded great right out of the box. I dialed in my sound very quickly. Took it to practice one night and fine tuned it. I gig with an Alternative/punk/rock band every weekend. I've had this amp for a couple months and so far NO PROBLEMS! This amp is well worth more than what it actually costs!
Playability and Feel: It feels pretty solid. The gains sound great. You can get anything from blues to metal. The clean is very good too! The clean isn't like my twin was but it is a lot better than my marshall's clean.
Tone: With my strat I get that nice bright and smooth tone which I use a lot. With my Les paul I get a darker grungy sound for the heavier stuff we play. Now this is the only amp I need to gig with. I used to use my twin and a JCM 800. Now my Marshall is a back up.
Finish: It's a very nice looking amp! It seems to be built pretty well. Some of the cosmetics are plastic but they still look nice. For the price thats not something I'd complain about.
Action: Out of the box it sounds great. I have no complaints!

Quality: Not a well made product at all. You can't depend on it, I spent $800 on it and have an amp head that doesn't work.
Sound: Tone quality was not consistent. Let me explain, after fine tuning a sound out of the amp one day, it would sound different the next day even though the settings hadn't been changed. Weird? Definitely! Frustrating? Absolutely. The clean channel was so-so, the distortion channel, was poor.
Reliability: Reliabilty is POOR!! Do not buy this amp at all. It has broken down on me twice! The first time was covered under warranty, the second time I was simply S.O.L. I still have it, but it doesn't work; it is barely a year old.
Overall: The Bugera 333xl is the worst amp head ever. It broke down just after 6 months of use. After replacing it, the replacement worked for about another 6 months and broke. The grill is plastic, the noise gate is non-functional. Overall a bad purchase.

Subject:Worked amazingly for two days!
Quality: This product, by far, is the worst product that I have ever Purchased.
Reliability: Over time?! I used it twice!
Overall: I have owned it for about a week, and only played it twice. First practice, I got it out of the box and set it up. It worked great! The tone was just what i was looking for. Second practice, I set it up, played with it for about ten minutes and this unbelievable squeal came from the amp. (not pickups) then the amp got quieter and quieter till it went dead. The lights on the tubes went out. This amp is garbage.
Playability and Feel: While it worked, the amp was really clean and sounded really good. I play Death Metal, and with my Ibanez 7 string tuned to drop G, it sounded great.
Tone: The amp has a real clean, bright tone. I had the gain all the way up on the lead channel, and it sounded great. There was a LOT of feedback, but the noise gate cut some out so that it was bearable.
Finish: I have to admit, it is a really good looking amp.
Action: It worked great the first time I played it. The second time i turned it on, after 10 minutes it was dead.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
Do you own this product?: I bought it on June 16th, and returned it June 24th.

Playability and Feel: has a good clean chunk to it when muting power chords.
Tone: not muddy at all. i have a peavey xxx that was my main amp but the bugera has a better clean channel and the crunch is very clean not overly compressed as the peavey is.
Finish: finish is as good as any other amp.
