CAD GXL2400 Condenser Microphone

The CAD GXL2400 Condenser Microphone is a large diameter, fixed cardioid pattern, condenser microphone that's compact in design, but big on sound.

High sensitivity and low distortion make this microphone an ideal candidate for recording, broadcast, sound reinforcement including vocal and instrument applications. The capsule in the GXL2400 features a 1-inch gold vapor deposited diaphragm. An internal hi-pass filter reduces thump and rumble.

The GXL2400 requires standard 48 Volt phantom power and includes an elastic shock mount and protective pouch.

The GXL2400 is audio tested and inspected under the direction of CAD Professional Microphones, offering an exceptional level of value.

Subject:Cleanest and Quietist Mic in this price range and more.
Quality: It looks good for the money, we will see how they hold up over time. I am super picky about how I haul and store my gear so it won't be too bad.
Features: This mic works great for what I use it for, vocals and instruments in a live acoustic/bluegrass setting. Set one up between chin and guitar, another between chin and mandolin, when we do 3/4 part harmony the others move it and it gets them all. Also use the gxl1200 on banjo and dobro. I mic the whole bluegrass band with 2-2400's and 2-1200's. It also works for small gigs with just one of these for all. The shock mount could be improved.
Ease of Use: No feedback from monitors, plug via phantom power and works great, cut the highs a little. Also use the windscreen with the 1200, it cuts the pop out.
Sound: clear and super accurate, don't make any mistakes or everyone will hear it.
Value: I bought two packs with a 1200 and a 2400 in each for $200. I replaced 5 mics/$1200 from audio technica for these, and even considering the price savings, I would still pick these.
