CAD Studio Condenser Microphone Package

This CAD Studio Microphone package includes a GXL2400 large diaphragm condenser and a GLX1200 condenser, plus a shock mount for the big GXL2400.
The CAD GXL2400 is a large diameter, fixed cardioid pattern, condenser microphone. High sensitivity and low distortion make this microphone an ideal candidate for recording, broadcast, sound reinforcement including vocal and instrument applications. The capsule in the GXL2400 features a 1-inch gold vapor deposited diaphragm. Requires 48V phantom power.

Packaged in a small, rugged, all metal housing, the GXL1200 condenser microphone provides a transparent sound reproduction. The transformerless design of this instrument microphone allows it to have low distortion and optimum low end frequency response. The GXL1200's size, accurate sound reproduction, and high SPL capability, make this a great choice for miking overheads, high hats, cymbals, woodwinds and stringed instruments. Requires 24V or 48V phantom power.

Subject:Great Deal for the Money
Quality: So far so good, time will tell how durable. I am super careful with all of my equipment, so it shouldn't be a problem. I don't even like "help" when setting up and packing up.
Features: The 1200 sounds better on dobro than a $250.00 at artist elite instrument mic, use the windscreen to cut down on pick noises. Also the windscreen is a little loose, I ordered a better thru windtech. The 2400 could use a windscreen, but I bought one for a Rode which fit fine. The shock mount for the 2400 is ok, but for my use on stage I prefer simple screw mount like on other mics in this price range. Both mics are accurate, and don't have feedback issues for acoustic and bluegrass. These mics meet my needs.
Ease of Use: Did not read anything, I had to adjust the distance for instruments for the 1200s too close picks up too much pick noise. The 2400s adjustment was to get closer than expected.
Sound: The 1200 picks up the low end on my dobro better than more expensive mics. The 2400 is accurate and works great on 2 o3 vocals coming together, with little feedback issues.
Value: I bought 2 of these paks, and mic an entire bluegrass band, except the bass. Previous I was using 5 AT mics at a cost of $1250 for the same results. Do the math.

Quality: The mics sounds nice and the GXL 2400 come with a shock mount so thats nice. The GXL 1200 had a loose piece covering the diaphram but it is something I can glue on my self.
Features: Shock mount.
Ease of Use: Easy to use, just plug it in.
Sound: Sounds good, nice mids and highs.

Subject:An Incredible CAD Value
Quality: I figure these mics will last as long as any other mic of their type. I prefer this shock mount to others that came with pricier mics.
Features: I miss the pad switches of my other mics, but for the price....so what.
Ease of Use: Plug in a cable and go.
Sound: Both mics do a great job of capturing sound with little or no coloration. Both mics are very quiet (no self noise). It is hard to believe that you can purchase two quality mics for less than $100. I also own the AT-2041 package, Studio Projects B1, and Rode M3. These CAD mics compare very well. And unless you have a dedicated and properly configured mic-recording room, don't waste your money on $$$$$ mics.
