Subject:A great microphone for the price
Quality: Seems solid enough. I haven't tried smashing in with a hammer or anything, but short of deliberate attempts at destruction I don't anticipate any problems.
Features: I like the noise reduction switches, gives you some control over your sound and helps to eliminate background noise such as hum from computer fans and so forth.
Ease of Use: The product is pretty easy to use itself, although there is very little in the way of documentation that comes with it. I had a little trouble getting it to work on my system at first. I'm on a 32 bit version of Vista, and it thought I was trying to install a usb headset/microphone so it installed speaker/output drivers as well as microphone/input drivers (the microphone does not come with its own drivers). All you have to do is go into your sound setup and disable the output drivers associated with the mic, and you're good to go. Depending on what software you're using to record you might have to tell the application what input and output drivers you want it to use as well. The lack of a manual or other documentation meant that I had to spend a couple of hours surfing internet forums before I could get it working the way I wanted, but once I was up and running, believe me, it was worth it.
Sound: Excellent. Beyond excellent. Surpassed all my expectations. The only problem I've had is that the mic picks up too much. As I mentioned before, there are noise reduction switches which help with this somewhat, but if you're not working in a perfectly quiet/controlled environment, you might find yourself doing multiple retakes because someone in the next room cleared their throat or your girlfriend exhaled too loud while smoking a cigarette and watching you record. But that's what you want a condenser mic for, high pick up and studio-quality sound. This mic delivers.
