The Charvel Desolation DS1ST Guitar With Stop Tail has a single-cutaway mahogany body with a carved top and neck-through-body design and includes an abalone body and headstock binding, compound radius (12-16 inch) rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and abalone inlays. The DS1ST also has a bound mahogany neck with scalloped heel, dual Seymour Duncan Blackout active humbucking pickups with three-way toggle switching.
Charvel designed a special bridge for compound-radius fingerboards and included features such as black nickel hardware, three-on-a-side Grover tuners, and either solid or transparent finishes (flame maple veneer on transparent finishes) with matching headstocks.
