Crate CA6110DG Gunnison Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

Crate CA6110DG Gunnison Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

Featuring a 10 inch speaker with a tweeter, the CA6110DG Gunnison is another great addition to the Crate CA Series of acoustic guitar amplifiers. The 60 watts of power provide a crisp clean sound which you can enhance with the onboard digital effects. The technology in the Crate Acoustic Series is unique, with preamp circuits you can tailor for piezo or active systems or BOTH!! Crate uses special studio monitor-style speakers with polypropylene cones and rubber surrounds in ported cabinets for tight, even bass response.

On the CA6110DG model Crate includes special features for live performance like XLR & 1/4 inch balanced line out with Level control which does not affect your stage volume. It also has ground lift on the Line Out, Tweeter Level control, Effects Loop and a two button footswitch for Internal Reverb/Effects and Chorus switching. Also included is a wide array of Reverbs, Delays, Chorus and Multiple Effects settings. Dimensions: 17 x 16 x 14 inches, 37 lbs.

More Power
A 60 watt RMS power amplifier drives a 10 inch polypropylene woofer for plenty of volume and low end punch.

More Clarity
A high efficiency Piezo tweeter provides clean crisp highs and natural midrange blend. A tweeter level control allows you to adjust the high frequency output to suit your taste.

More Control
Two separate channels, each with its own gain, tone, and reverb/effects controls. An automatic feedback elimination circuit with two filter select controls lets you kill feedback without sacrificing sound quality. The filters can be controlled by means of a footswitch provided with the unit.

A pair of CD Input jacks allows you to play along with a compact disc, cassette tape, or a rhythm machine.

Still More
Footswitch jacks on the rear panel provide control for the feedback circuit as well as two tracking DSP presets. Level controllable XLR and 1/4 inch balanced line outs allow you to patch into house sound boards or recording consoles, plus an effects loop line-in/line-out setup allows connection of external effects. An external speaker jack lets you connect the amplifier to another separate speaker cabinet.

Enough already? Not for Crate
The CA6110DG features Crate’s Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for a variety of digital reverbs, effects and delays specifically designed for acoustic instruments.

Subject:Great On-Stage Monitor & Effects Box
Quality: This thing is very well made and rugged. I use it on stage, on a stand, with a fairly raucous band and it has never had any problems.
Features: I like the ease of using the onboard effects, and the controls are easy to use and understand. The only complaint I have is the location of the knobs (towards the back - on top), but putting it on a stand overcomes this issue.
Sound: The tone is excellent. I use it primarily as an on-stage "monitor" and as a way to control my effects. The line out is great, because it is "post-effects" and allows me to tweak it at will on-stage. The reverb and chorus are not overstated and don't sound thin like most digital effects.
Reliability: I think these things are hard to kill. It's fallen off our truck at least once, and been in some rather caustic outside conditions, but I have never had a single problem.
Overall: I'm sure that anyone who uses this product the way I do would find it an excellent solution.
Value: I bought one of the "factory seconds" and it had one small ding on the rear, bottom of the cabinet. At this price, this is excellent value!

Subject:Green Machine
Quality: This is a heavy amp but not as heavy as some others I used. I have been able to take to practice and to shows and not worn out by lifting heavy amps around. I am a active in my band and travel alot. This amp has not failed me yet! I have used this amp for church and for outdoor shows. I have also been able to save my other guitar player when his amp failed more then one time , he was able to plug into my amp with me and we did not loose sound level or quality when we turned it up.
Features: I think the best features would be the ability to plug in my guitar and also a mic. I been in places were we needed to start playing and the sound board had problems with the cordless mic. So we just plugged in a chorded mic in my amp with my guitar and was able to do the show. I have been able to conect directly into a sound board and let the sound man control the bands overall volume and then use my amp as the monitor because of the sperate volume controls. The only feature I would like to see added was the ability to change the effects for each channel. I know I can use the same effect and limit how much effect on the channels but it would be nice to change effets for the guitar then one for the mic.
Sound: Keep in mind this amp was not for the rock'n roll sound, it is for acoustic. I have used many of the effects and it works great. I do not have any of the hissin problems other reviews said, maybe it is not the amp but the pick ups on their guitar. I have used a electric acoutic and I have used a pick-up that I slide in my regular acoustic and they both work great!
Reliability: Like I said before I have used it for 3 years regularly for many shows and every sunday at church. It has not failed me yet. It holds up to the want to be helpers abuse. So it is a great amp for the types of music I play which is country, older rock and modern church music
Overall: Some people belive you have to have the big name amps to soung good. Crate has come along way building quality amps for a great price. This amp is for the working family man who just can not spend a lot of money for those big name amps. I have played on a fender acoutic amp and it was very limited what I could do and the sound quality was not there. I was able to play on my friends california blonde amp but his amp does not match the sound quilty at high levels. Also his amp was the one that failed offen and I saved him by letting him play through mine. He has finally purchased the crate amp and retired his old one which was only 2 years old. This is a great amp for the price! You just have to try one for yourself and you will see what I mean when you compare it to the others.
Value: This is a great value for the price which I paid full price for I did not get it on sale and I do not regret it. I have heard from others that crate amps were just not up to quality and dependabilty but I have proved them wrong and crate amps are moving up with the name brand amps. The best thing is crate is still making the amps afordable!

QUALITY:
Absolutely built solid. Should last a long long time.

FEATURES:
The automatic feedback eliminator is tops. Took all the worry of feedback out of using this amp. The DSP effects are great. Not too overbearing. Two channels with xlr and 1/4 on both channels.

EASE OF USE:
For someone new to acoustic amps it was relatively easy to use. Therre are more features than I know what to do with though, so my learning curve will have to expand.

VALUE:
I bought it because it was on sale and it saved me several dollars. But now that I have it I would have paid full price and certainly thought it was worth it.

SOUND:
I plugged my Takamine into it, I was hooked. Can't play it unplugged now. A few minutes of adjusting to suit my taste and the sound was awsome. No hum or noise, just good clean reproduction.

Country, Rock, Gospel

Subject:A Great Amp, When It's Working
Overall:

QUALITY:
I've had two of these quit on me, now. Great when they work, but I'm not sure about build quality.

FEATURES:
The best features of any amp in this price range.

EASE OF USE:
Very easy to get a good guitar and mic sound from the amp.

VALUE:
Hmmm...it's a great sounding amp with tons of features, but I have two in the shop for different repairs at the moment.

SOUND:
Great guitar sound with plenty of volume.
