| This amp wouldn't be bad if the effects came on every time, but they don't. I have to turn it off and on again to get the effects to work. Same with the built in tuner. Sometimes it even makes a weird noise so you have to turn off and on twice. That rules out using this amp for performing. | | Features:
| The features are not bad when they work. Distortion sucks if you like high gain. The reverb sounds very good, when it works. The clean channel sounds best. | | Sound:
| This amp has a good sound on the clean channel. The gain is too muddy on the other channels. It produces unwanted distortion in the distortion if you know what I mean. This is not a great amp for the metal player because of it. I have not tried to put an effects processor through it yet though, so maybe that would help. | | Reliability:
| Other than the effects not coming on all the time this has been reliable so far. | | Overall:
| I cannot recommend this product even though the effects sound very good. If the effects don't come on when you need them, this amp is just an overpowered practice amp. I would recommend looking at the Line 6 spider III series. | | Value:
| The value isn't that good. If Crate could eliminate the flaw in the electronics I would say differently, but this one flaw is a serious one. Metal players look elsewhere, no metal head likes muddy distortion. | |

QUALITY: This amp appears to be very well put together, this is the second Crate amp I have owned and if it holds up like the first one I will not complain.
FEATURES: The 3 channels are great, the clean channel is awesome and has great bottom end.The overdrive and and high gain are some of the best I have ever heard built into an amp.
EASE OF USE: Very simple, pretty straight forward.
VALUE: Worth every penny, would buy it again.
SOUND: Incredible sound, very impressed,Crate has hit a homerun with this amp.The onboard effects are very good and you have alot of control over them, not like some of these modeling amps I have tried. |
