Crate V50112 Guitar Combo AmplifierThe Crate V50112 two-channel combo loudly announces the new generation of Crate’s all-tube amplifiers. With dual 6L6 fixed biased output tubes, this bad refrigerator produces the sort of sparkling cleans and warm, thick overdrive that can only come from tubes pushed to their limit. It pumps 50 watts through a single 12 inch speaker, creating a muscular low end perfect for club gigs and recording sessions. Presence control, spring reverb and foot-switchable boost make sure you can dial in your custom tone from anywhere. Lesser amps will blow their fuses in fear when they see you plugging into a V50112.

| So far, so good. Time will tell. | | Overall:
| I will say this, if you want a bedroom amp, get somthing smaller. I was blown away by how much sound comes out of this little sucker. It will play over the entire band if you wanted to. I had the money to buy a Fender, but for $199 through AMS, you can't go wrong. | | Playability and Feel:
| It will blow your hair back effortlessly. | | Tone:
| I play blues. Srv, Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray...ect. I thought the clean channel was a dream. The overdrive is so so. Run a tube screamer through it and holy crap, what a sound. I play an American Strat with texas specials. What a combination.
I played the Hotrod deluxe and blues junior and I can honestly say this dude will run with them, if not trample them. | | Finish:
| It looks much cooler in person, very tight. | | Action:
| Everything was great. Make sure if you order this amp, when you recieve it, let it warm up before you plug it in, then leave it on standby for about 30 minutes. Also, tube amps will pick up feedback from phones, computers, florescent lights, even heavy wiring in your home. If you notice this, just move untill it goes away. Buy this amp, when there gone, there gone. Sound, tone and quality of a $700 amp for $199. With AMS's payment plan, you can get some padals and other goodys pretty cheap. | | Skill Level:

| Extremely well made amp. Solid cabinet. Tight controls. Nice tube array. I own, among other amps, 2 vintage Vox AC30, a Gibson '50's era 15 watt and a Crate VTX65B, like the 65B Crate has come thru again. | | Reliability:
| Haven't had it long, but it should do fine. Most tube amps are ticky (which is why I added the 65B to my road set up and dropped one Vox). | | Overall:
| Funny thing about this amp, a buddy of mine in another band received his two days before I did so I had a chance to play with it . I loved it, he didn't. Instead of sending it back, I convinced him to sell it to me minus return shipping cost. When mine arrived I decided to keep it. It has changed my road rig to an all Crate affair. The 2 V50's and the VTX65B. Overall sound is FANTASTIC! | | Playability and Feel:
| Extremely easy to use. Nothing fancy. Great control setup, effects loop. Wish the footswitch came with it, not sold here. | | Tone:
| Using an amp switcher and a Vox fonelab pedal I can dial in a never ending combonation of sounds. The clean channel on both amps is great. The overdrive on one is fine, on the other kind of over the top. So I run one clean only the oher overdrive only problem solved. The boost and presence buttons are nice touches. I'm still tweaking the setup and sound, right now just feeling my way, but so far so good. | | Finish:
| Vintage styled cab on both wre in A-1 condition and looked great, no flaws or blems. | | Action:

| | | Subject: | Clean, Compressed , Powerful Tube Amp Tone | | Quality:
| I have heard that quality varies. I have owned my unit for 1 month, and so far, no problems. The build seems good, but not as heavy as Fender combos. I have not yet looked inside the amp to determine the build quality. | | Features:
| If I had to recommend a first tube amp for the aspiring performer, this would be the one. It has all the power you need, and enough features for anyone: 3-band EQ, mid-boost, presence boost, reverb, effects loop. | | Sound:
| I have a preference for the warmth, compression, and musicality of 6L6 Tube Amps, and this amp did not disappoint. The amp takes pedals just fine, and the effects loop should work for those needing to add their favorite modeler. However, I see no reason to add to the signal chain, when this amp sounds very good with just a guitar and cable. | | Reliability:
| So far (one month) so good. The warranty helps build confidence. | | Overall:
| A good tube amp can make an average guitar sound good. A top notch guitar through an average sounding amp will sound less than satisfactory. This amp is capable of supporting the tone of most any instrument. | | Value:
| This tube amp should get anyone performing at a fair cost. Pair this amp with a good guitar (there are many good instruments priced similarly to this amp) enjoy the cost savings, and don't worry about the logo on the box. The talent you must bring to the table, but this amp will cooperate. |
