Cort Gene Simmons GS Punisher 2 Bass Guitar with CaseThe GS Punisher 2 was designed in 1992 by Gene Simmons himself!
The Cort Punisher 2 was created to solve problems found with other basses. The Gene Simmons bass guitar has a mahogany body with a Canadian Rock Maple bolt on neck. The Cort GS Punisher 2 bass features a rosewood fingerboard with white pearl diamond inlays. The Cort Gene Simmons GS Punisher 2 bass guitar includes a Gene Simmons custom case featuring his signature and photo.
"I hate basses with their necks buried in the body. It prevents me from reaching the high notes. Also I do not like the sound of most basses. They are usually too round and you can't hear the notes. So I designed the Punisher 2 to deliver a big sound" - Gene Simmons

| Its a Beast! |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| Very Solid
Except for the factory set up, excellent
And the case is really cool! |
| Features |
| What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? |
| The sustain surprised me!
Better sustain than any of my other 8 basses
Kind of amazing. |
| Sound |
| How is its Tone? |
| Wow, this is the best part, I've only played it at home through my practice amp so far, but the lead guitarist from my band heard me do some riffs and said that its the best sounding bass I have.
I have a Rickenbacker, A Spector,Two Schecters, An Epiphone Blackbird ( my past favorite live bass)A custom made Carvin, (my favorite studio bass) And a Fender Precision Special. Even my wife said "Oh baby That sounds POWERFUL!" It kicks a$$. |
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| It's heavy, Like a Rickenbacker, but balenced. not neck heavy, which again is surprising. The neck is very thick like an old Music Man Sting Ray. Once you get used to it its pretty fast |
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| BIG!
Solid bass, Fat mids, and Snappy highs. Sustain for days. Unlike anything I have ever played. I havent done a gig with it yet, I think the other guys in the band will be scared of this bass. I think it will cut through the mix like nothing else. Maybe not for everyone. Not for bassists that like to stay in the background. |
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| Beautiful, perfect! |
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Out of the box like most mailorder basses, it needed some work, after vabout 30 minutes of truss rod work it was sweet! |
