Dean Markley Blue Steel Light Guitar Strings

Blue Steel are the world's first and finest Cryogenic-processed strings. Blue Steel strings are a total breakthrough in string technology. Starting with the very finest quality materials, Blue Steel strings are frozen to minus 320 degrees Fahrenheit, held there for an exact period of time and then slowly and carefully brought back to their original temperature. This unique Cryogenic treatment realigns the molecular structure of the string, giving Blue Steel more highs and lows, a longer life and greater ability to stay in tune.

That's right, this is the one everyone's been talking about. It's simply amazing what a little -320º liquid nitrogen can do to a guitar string. If I were you, I'd put on a set and see what all the noise is about. Twice the tone and twice the life.

FAQ

Q: What makes Blue Steel strings different than your other strings?
A: Blue Steel strings are cryogenically treated to give them a longer life, great tone and the ability to stay in tune better than other strings. While some artists play Blue Steel strings exclusively, other players feel more comfortable with untreated strings. We advise everyone to try Blue Steel strings to see if they are the string for you.

Q: Is there a chance Blue Steel guitar strings would wear down my frets faster than other strings?
A: No, Blue Steel strings will not wear down your frets any faster than any other standard string available on the market today.

Q: Is there really a Dean Markley?
A: Yes. Dean has been a force in the music industry for over 25 years, and although he dedicates much of his time to his home, family, horses, and rabbits, he still is very active in product development and planning for the future of Dean Markley Strings, Inc.

Subject:Quality at great price, reliable too
Quality: My husband has been using these strings for over 10 years with no complaints. He has sweaty hands and tends to rust nickel strings easily, so the steel strings tend to work better for him. The quality of the Blue Steels seems to hold up much better than others he's tried with his unique problem.
Reliability: This product lasts him pretty well, and is consistent from package to package as far as I know. I think they last about as well as nickel strings do for me.
Overall: I purchased several sets of the heavy bottom, light tops for him as stocking stuffers this Christmas. I had bought him some Elixirs to try earlier this year, but he has 14 guitars and these are his "old standby" strings. I just know that he will restring some of them with these as his trems and things are set to these specific strings and he won't want to adjust for other string sizes for those coated strings that don't come in specialty sizes. Besides, who knows if he will really like those? I know without a doubt that he always likes these and no matter how many I buy, he will definately use them.
Playability and Feel: My husband is a chronic complainer, but he never complains about these strings, so they must be GREAT!!
Tone: Again, it must be great for him, no complaints on them. I think as long as you wipe down the strings after each use they last longer and the tone sounds better as well.

Action: fine, adjust on guitar as needed
