Dean EAB Acoustic Electric Bass Guitar

The Dean EAB Electric Acoustic Bass is the perfect starter bass guitar for the beginning bass player.
Now you can play bass with or without an amp! This is a comfortable bass that's loud enough for jam sessions with acoustic guitar players, and has the on-board electronics to let you take it right up on stage. For home recording, an acoustic bass is absolutely perfect because you get an incredible sound and you don't have to spend time finding the sweet spot miking up a speaker cabinet.

Features include a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a passive piezo pickup system.

Dean is really doin' it right with the Electric Acoustic Bass.

Subject:Pleasantly Surprised!!!
Quality: I dropped a few hints about this bass for a Christmas present to my wife. I've always wanted an acoustic bass and this was almost to good of a deal to pass up, but I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprise when I took it out of the box. Mine was setup very well. It has a very thin & comfortable neck(I do tweak the neck tension occassionally when the seasons change). The strings weren't great so I put on some GHS bronze bass strings. The unplugged tone and amplitude are great. It's louder than several higher priced acoustic basses that I've tried in stores. The weakest asspect is the output from the electronics. You have to really crank it up to get anything out of it. I have Lexicon Alpha interface that barely picks it up. I general pre-amp it through my amp and then to the interface. Over all, it was a great value!
Features: Over all value. (bang for the buck)
Sound: Great unplugged tone. Weak on electronic output.
Playability and Feel: Great neck action out of the box. I do tweak the neck occassionally, usually at the change of the seasons...
Tone: I did change the strings to GHS bronze acoustic bass strings....
Finish: Fine for the money
Action: I read another review about the terrible setup. I guess I was lucky. My was great...
