| Well made. I did have one out-of-box problem. The Ibanez T808 distortion was not working...well..it didn't even exist in my RP155. E-mail support with Digitech was not impressive, as they seemed to think this was pretty much impossible. However, I found they had a firmware upgrade on their website. Once I upgraded the firmware from 1.0 to 1.1, my T808 distortion appeared. I had to figure that on my own...there was NO indication from the support folks that this would fix the problem. Oh, by the way...you an also download software from Digitch that will let you 'program' the rp155 via a computer...very nicely made software. (You need a USB cable for the software options....no included.) | | Sound:
| I'm picky about sound in general...but not to the extent that I expect this to exactly reproduce the sound of what it's modeling. I can't comment how close it actually matches the sounds of the products that are being modeled, but I can tell you it is a blast to play, and gives a great range of sounds. | | Reliability:
| I've only had this a month, but it is an extremely SOLID. I read reviews indicating that it was plastic. Well, it is...but it's an extremely solid plastic. And it HAS to have a metal chasis, as it's pretty darn heavy for it's size. | | Overall:
| I'm a beginner guitarist, and had very little concept of what the various stomp boxes would do for sound. For $99 I've been able to experiment with distortion boxes, chorus, delay, etc. (2 of the modeled distortion boxes alone sell for about $300 - for the pair - here on AMS)
But it's better than that...there are 50 built in presets along with 20 tones and 20 effects already set-up.
So now, I can find the sound I like, and then investigate what stomp boxes are 'modeled' to create that sound. And, I've already had a blast modifying those sounds to get something that's more of my own style.
I think this is a fantastic, low-cost way to learn about stomp boxes for electric guitars. | | Playability and Feel:
| I'm sold on this, as you can tell. I highly recommend it to any beginner that wants to learn how all the various sounds are created with an electric guitar. | | Tone:
