The DOD YJM308 Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive delivers unmatched powerhouse shredder tone!
To meet the exacting sound requirements of Yngwie Malmsteen, DOD worked with the virtuoso himself and created the amazing tone and overdrive qualities of the YJM308. The basis for this tone is a vintage DOD 250 that Yngwie has used for years. The development process required rigorous electronic testing and real-time analysis of various overdrive and EQ combinations before they finally were able to match Yngwie's signature sound. The YJM308 features Gain and Level controls and a bypass footswitch.

When I was a kid in Sweden back in 1978, I bought my first DOD 250 pedal. This preamp overdrive pushing the front end of my tube amps has been a key element to my tone ever since. Like most handwired vintage equipment of the era, there is some variety in the sound between my different old gray pedals. DOD took my favorite pedal and used that as the reference to create the YJM308. Now I can always get my trademark tone and keep my original vintage gear safe at home. More than that, this new pedal sounds so good it is what I am using these days. I have not hooked up my old 250s at all recently. I am using the YJM308 for everything, including my new album. Not to mention it looks cool.

Quality: Steel enclosure. Old-school metal switch. Built like a tank for $30.
Reliability: I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I've had many DOD products over the years. I've never had a problem with any DOD pedal.
Overall: You can't beat it for the price.
Playability and Feel: If you can't figure out how to work this pedal go jump off a tall building. My 2 year old son already knows how to work it.
Tone: I use it mainly as a boost for my solos. I probably wouldn't use it as my main source of distortion. The tone seems a little 'thin' for my tastes, but everybody likes a little different sound. Try it out, you may love the tone.
Finish: Clean and simple.
Action: Switch works great, how can you screw that up?

Quality: worked great for about a month or two. the battery from the factory ran out and i changed the battery naturally, and it freaks out.
Reliability: not very reliable.
Overall: i would recamend it to anyone with money at their disposal.
Playability and Feel: it gives anything from a little dirt to hard rock.
Tone: it works well with a bright clean tone to accent the downbeat.
Finish: great finish. my only complaint is that there is no LED light to indicate power. this is probably why it freaked on me.
