Best quality stands. Period.
Your general opinion of this product.
The best way to describe all of the DW 9000 series hardware: Quality.
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
These stands are the best I've ever used, hands down. The fact that I can stick a 19" crash along with 10 and 12 inch rack toms mounted and the stand not move one bit, priceless. I've never found a single boom stand to be that solid. These things do not move, and that's how it should be.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
You pull it out of the box and it's ready to go in 20 seconds. It folds up very well and takes up very little space.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
One of the best features is the stopped below the legs to make sure it's not going anywhere. Also, it makes set up time much easier because you'll be opening up the stand to the exact same position every time. Perfect for touring/gigs. One of the other nice things about these stands is the handle. You can adjust the the direction of your cymbal however you'd like because there's no teeth, the handle itself makes it very easy to adjust even if you're sitting on your throne. My favorite part about these stands is that you can adjust how much room there is between your cymbal felts. They can either be really tight, or make them bad boys loose like they should be so the cymbals resonate and have their full sound.
How is the tone?
This isn't really an instrument, but I'll say this: I mad more length between the the cymbal felts so my cymbals have more rocking room, if you will, and they sound better than they ever have.
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had them for a short time, but I know these are going to last me. My other friend also had these for years and swears by all DW 9000 hardware. So that's exactly what I did, ordered all 9000 hardware and I couldn't be happier. Don't waste your money on pearl or gibraltar hardware. Spend more money and buy quality. And for the record, I'm not a DW rep, I'm not getting paid to write a bull review, I just love everything Drum Workshop does.
