Drum Workshop brings you the new Concept Series in a 7 piece Maple Shell Kit. All tom and kick shells are 7-ply, with the exception of the snare drums which are 10-ply. Through our research with the Drum Workshop Custom Shop, some particular detail features that have a big effect on sound and quality have been discovered.

Every drummer deserves these features, so we included DW-style STM mounting systems, True Pitch tuning, F.A.S.T. tom sizing, proportional counter hoop sizing, and Remo drum heads. Snare drums come with the DW MAG throw-off and boutique-style copper wires. Bass drums come with die-cast claw hooks, and all drums feature the new retro-inspired dual-turret tube lug.
Concept Maple drums are available in six specialty high-gloss finishes, all with chrome hardware, except for pearlescent black with black hardware.

| Overall I am extremely pleased with this kit and the quick shipping service provided by AMS. After weeks of extensive budget-conscious research, YouTubing and customer review reading for a maple shell kit, this seemed like the best choice by a long shot.
I did tune up and slam the Remo PDP heads that came with the kit (just for kicks), which sounded OK overall and may be sufficient for the less discerned drummer/ear.
After putting coated Remo Emperors for batters and Ambassadors for resonants, these shells produced that beautiful, deep and warm tone I was looking for. |

| The suspension mounts are excellent and the lacquer finish is beautiful. Although the DW MAG throw-off and copper snare wires were a nice touch, it still didn't change the fact that this snare is less than desirable. I would upgrade the snare drum which is by far the weakest link in this shell kit and the reason for the 4 star quality rating. |

| I struggled between the Pearlescent White and Transparent Walnut when choosing the finish. Since I already own a white Pearl kit, I opted for the Transparent Walnut. I am so happy I did - the walnut finish is absolutely beautiful and the wood grain is absolutely transparent. |
