Since this snare has DW parts it is ready rock right out of the box.

First off the 20 ply birch shell makes this snare crack loud. The DW lugs, throw-off and head are a nce touch and also like the high quality copper ended / carbon wired snare wires.
Sound
How is the tone?
This snare is made to rock hard. If you want your snare to be heard get this heavy beast.

Your general opinion of this product.
Love it. The only thing I changed was the batter / top head to an Ambassador X head. While still single ply like the stock head these are 2 mil thicker and give the snare even more mid punch.
