Overall Rating
not quite what I expected
What is your overall opinion of this product?
I already had the blacktop strat HSH which I really like, so I thought the tele would be equally good. However the sound is not what I expected. It looks like the pup's are the same as on the strat but they do not sound as good. On the fence as to whether I want to return it.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
fit and finish is very good. Seems the weak point is the electronics. Tone pot not very sensitive and pup's don't give the sound I was looking for.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
the guitar feels very good, nice comfortable neck and the carved body is great
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Tone is where I am disappointed in this guitar. I think the pup's have a thin trebely sound for buckers. Also, the G string has a very tinny sound that is quite annoying when played open.
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is very good. No complaints here.
How was the action out of the box?
need some slight adjustment of the saddles to eliminate fret buzz.
