Product Description

Don't be fooled by its smaller size-the Ibanez Artcore AM93 Semi Hollow Electric Guitar has all the power, presence and features of its larger cousins. It is perfect for smaller players or anyone else who wants the traditional semi-acoustic elements but not the traditional size. The Artcore AM93 guitar has the quintessential 60s look and feel a semi-hollow with its flat-top body, and even chicken head knobs. It has full tone, strong sustain, lightweight body, and feedback resistance of a semi-acoustic in an original Ibanez compact design. Ibanez designed the AM93 with the aim of bringing the traditional tone and look of hollow body guitars into more modern musical realms.

Subject
To say this guitar was a pleasant surprize would be an understatement!!
General
What is your overall opinion of this product?
I have had many guitars over the years including pricey gibby's and Fender's. But never have I been this blown away by anything at this price point or 3 to 4 times above this price point. I only gave it a 3 on playability because I had to do a few things to get it set up to my personal preferences. But there were no issues that anyone who knows how to do a setup couldn't resolve. The tone is amazing on this thing! The tone and volume pots are high quality and have great range. Also I really dig the rubber grip ring on the knobs. Very innovative! After 2 bad experiences, I swore that I would never buy another made in china instrument. But after listening to videos on this and knowing about American Musicals return policy I decided to give it a whirl, Glad I did. I absolutely love this guitar!
Quality
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
The quality seems to be very good on this guitar including the finish. I know you can get great classic rock and blues tones (which is what I mostly play). But I can tell it would also be suitable for jazz.
Feel
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It has the fast Ibanez neck so it feels pretty good.
Tone
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The tone is awesome and thick with tremendous articulation.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Excellent finish.
Value
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Very good bang for your buck here. I don't think an Epiphone in this price range would sound nearly this good.
Playability
How was the action out of the box?
Wasn't very playable out of the box. But I've had to set up every guitar I've ever owned so I feel this was normal.
