As one of the iconic Ibanez basses, this BTB steps confidently into territory few instruments have gone before. Having already staked its ground in the "boutique" class with it's sustain enhancing thru-neck design, 35" scale and super-deep nearly 2-octave cutaway, Ibanez, the masters of the 5 and 6-string bass, have opened yet another door of musical possibility. The added first string of the BTB7ENTF (factory tuning: 1F, 2C, 3G, 4D, 5A, 6E, 7B) opens up wider range for chords and soloing, while at the lower end still delivering a full, rich, thick response capable of anchoring any arrangement.
All components of the BTB7ENTF are interdependent, working together toward a superior performance: The Mono-Rail IV bridge is the ultimate in string isolation for bass, with featuring a saddle lock system that maximizes stability and focuses vibration transfer. The CAP Sonic Arch delivers optimal performance from string to string. In terms of tone, these pickups have gained a reputation for flexibility, delivering everything from "crisp and detailed" to "warm and fat" Tonal clarity of the lower strings is ensured by the 35" scale neck. To handle the added tension of seven strings, Ibanez luthiers designed a 9pc Maple/Rosewood/Walnut neck that achieves the trifecta of bass design: Surprising player comfort, extraordinary mechanical stability, and a visual spectacle that will impress anyone who appreciates masterly wood craft.
