QSC GX7 Stereo Power Amplifier Features
  • Power levels matched to the most popular speakers used by entertainers
  • Optimized for maximum real-world headroom into 4 ohm and 8 ohm speaker systems
  • Versatile XLR, 1/4 inch TRS and phono input connectors for compatibility with any source
  • Speakon combo outputs accept 1/4 inch TS plugs or Speakon 2-pole and 4-pole plugs
  • Binding posts support all other speaker wiring systems
  • Loads of power and it still only weighs 15.5 pounds
The GX7 amplifier is powerful enough to handle most PA speakers on the market. Typically, loudspeaker manufacturers recommend an amplifier with power output equal to the speaker's Program (Music) Power rating or two times (2 x) the Continuous (RMS) Power rating.

The GX7 outputs 725 watts into an 8 ohm load. Owners of popular 4 ohm loudspeakers (such as dual-woofer, two-way models) will find the 700 watt (4 ohm) power of the GX5 an ideal match while the GX7's 1000 watts will very capably power many of today's popular subwoofers or two typical 8 ohm speakers per channel.

The QSC GX7 adds the road-proven PowerLight supply to the Class H output section, for more overall output power and additional weight savings. The result is one of the highest power-to-weight ratios in the industry. A low-noise variable-speed fan with rear-to-front airflow keeps amplifiers and racks cool.

As always, GX Series amplifiers are fully protected from the usual hazards of the trade, ensuring stable performance and long life.

GuardRail protection delivers full peak power while preventing detrimental overloads. During excessive clipping, or extreme overheating, GuardRail reduces gain just enough to preserve the integrity of the music, protect the speakers and keep the audience excited, without unprofessional distortion levels or shutdowns.

Subwoofer/Satellite Crossover
A subwoofer reduces strain on the full-range speaker, allowing it to play louder, or letting a smaller speaker do the same job. The GX Series supports this mode with a Crossover switch that splits the full-range input entering Ch 1, sending 20 Hz -100 Hz to the sub (Ch 1) and 100 Hz - 20 kHz to the top box (Ch 2). The front panel gain controls balance the sub and top box, while GuardRail optimizes peak power into the sub and top individually, for greater musical impact and dynamic range. GuardRail optimizes peak power into the sub and top individually, for greater musical impact and dynamic range.

Ease of Use
Best price of a perfect product.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm a guy that does his research before buying anything. It took me almost 2 months to finally buy this amp and i'm glad I did. I own the PLX line of QSC amps and I was curious about how this amp would hold up to them. It did not disappoint me. I initially bought it to power my triple 12 tops however, I sometimes use it on subs as well. I love it.
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I trust the QSC brand. I've had the same amps in the same rack for almost 6 years with no problems. The GX-7 is definitely smaller than the PLX line but it sounds great and gives me the sound i'm looking for although its only a 1k watt power amp.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
It's simple to use. There is no bridging option or the ability to parallel inputs. What it does have is a switch that allows you to use it for full range use or split up lows and highs between channel 1 and 2.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Since this is a straight-forward amp, the best features about it are it's size and weight.
How is the tone?
To be honest, i'm just a mobile dj that sometimes does sound rental. All I know is what sounds good to me and what sounds bad. THIS sounds good for the price.
