The MXR M-108 EQ delivers total control. After all, that’s really what guitarists want, isn't it?

The MXR M-108 provides extreme control over the ten most crucial frequencies for guitar. But that’s not all. With separate input gain and output volume sliders, the M-108 also provides a ridiculous amount of level control. So you can not only dictate what your guitar sounds like but also where it sits in the mix.

Make a fill or a solo jump to the forefront. Give a thin-sounding single-coil the girth to stand up to a high-output humbucker. Turn a vintage one-channel amp into a two-channel firebreather. Create scooped-mid death tones, midrange-heavy singing lead sounds, thunderous lows, crystalline highs—you name it and the M-108 will do it. Now, who wants some?

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's one of the better constructed pedals I've come across. Metal box, good finish, metal footswitch and jacks.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
MXR pedals I've had in the past have held up very well and they have a good reputation.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This stompbox would be a worthy addition to about any rig out there.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels good, easy to see. Heavy construction.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It can be adjusted to be bright, dark, louder, softer,or anywhere in between. I use it to get a louder clean on a 20watt tube head. More headroom and makes the amp more usable live with a drummer. The separate gain and volume are great in that respect. You could also use it to tame a 50 or 100 watter by raising the gain and lowering the volume. Shredders/Metal players can scoop mids and dial in chunk. Mine stays on connected to the amps effect loop.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It has a fine textured finish that's scratch resistant. Red led on each fader look neat and should help on a dark stage if any adjustment is needed. Nonskid rubber feet.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
This pedal comes with its own 18v power supply[wall wart]. Anyone who has used a graphic eq[even for a stereo] should not have a problem. Connections are solid with good feel as is the footswitch. Faders for the eq section and gain/volume also feel good.
