Ebtech

The Ebtech HUM X Hum Eliminator outs unwanted voltage and current in the ground line that cause ground loop hum while simultaneously maintaining a solid, safe ground. You no longer have to run your audio signal through any type of tone-sucking filter. Simply place the Ebtech Hum X on the end of the power cord of the equipment that has a Ground Loop and plug the Hum X into the wall outlet. Ground Loop is gone - safely - and audio signal remains intact.

The Ebtech HUM X Hum Eliminator is the easiest, safest way to get rid of ground loop hum!

Ebtec Hum X (and other Hum eliminator Tips)
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Since Ground Loop Hums seem to always be a problem, - one piece of equipment normally does not handle them all. You need to isolate in your configuration what piece of gear/cable is creating the "hum." The first place I would start (and install/place another hum unit) would be at the Amplifier using a “Dual-Channel” type Hum unit (Nady HE1 or Ebtec ). Connect the individual “Output” cable's from your Pedal Board/Mixer and Guitar to the “Input” side of the (Nady HE1 or Ebtech Hum Eliminator) unit; Connect the “Output” of the (Nady HE1 or Ebtec ) to the Amp’s “Input”channels. Note: Make sure you use superior quality grade TS patch/jumper cables for connecting here (Hosa or DiMarzio are great.)
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Simplicity!! Plug-n-Plug: Plug the Ebtec Hum X into your UPS/Regulated Power supply and (in this case where the Laptop's Power Transformer Cable is the culprit) plus the Laptop's external AC cable into the Ebtec Hum X.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Plug-n-Plug??? Pretty easy!!!
Sound
How is the tone?
Also, don't forget to check your Mixer XLR/Jack connectors for any added "hums" that maybe present. If this is the case, another solution is using the Ebtech HE-2R. This unit will handle 2 channels each of both your TS & XLR cable runs. Yes, this can be a little added expense however; sometimes these extra expenses are necessary in order to fix the problems. Pricey? Not really considering what you'll receive in the end - better quality sound and isn't that what its all about??? As we all know: "if ya' wanna' dance, ya' gotta' pay the band." Good luck!
